Diva Divine

This word has been cropping up around me, and I thought I'd better look it up before I used it again. I'm glad I did:

diva

"distinguished woman singer," 1883, from It. diva "goddess, fine lady," from L. diva "goddess," fem. of divus "divine (one)."

diva. Dictionary.com. Online Etymology Dictionary. Douglas Harper, Historian. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/diva (accessed: August 25, 2007).

I used the diva word because I have added a link on the side for a blog style helper I found. She emailed me helpful instructions for beautifying my blog, so I have decided that she is a "fine lady" and the word fits her. I hope to be applying her helpful hints very soon.
