Quandarical Conundrum

Please vote on the following important issue. This is my current hair:
This is my ugly man-hair photoshop version of the length I am really wanting right now. (Except with more texture on top.)

This is me with the fabulous haircut I want in blonde. So my question is, can I pull this off?

I just love the ease of styling in a very short do. But I cherish a strong association between this length of hair and age 30+. Can I pull this off in my late twenties? I am currently considering becoming the VP of the Quilt Guild next year. Doesn't that mean I should try to fit in with the ladies who are in my soul age group if not my bodily age group? Also, will my chipmunk cheeks hang way too far out with no hair to distract from them? Please advise. My appointment is Friday at 2:00. (Yes, this is a not so clever ruse to get comments. I'm shameless, I tell ya. Shameless.)

I'm old fashioned, but I like it the way you have it now.

I love the short hair behind the ears! I too have the cheek thing, and I've always been told that pulling the hair away from the face is supposed to slim the cheeks.

Don't know about the blond - if it was more subtle than that pic it could be totally cute.

A) love your current hair. Seriously. You are HOT ;) B) I understand the need/want for change... like the shorter blonde STYLE (all the texture up front) but probably not the color.

Good luck and FOR SURE keep us posted (and we'll FOR SURE comment!)

2nd haircut, with 3 different shades of color. :) Gives is a lot of texture and SASSY! :) That's what my sis suggested. She just got back from teaching a the Paul Mitchell Hair school in New York. I'd have to agree with her :)

I think short is cute, and it seems to be "in" as both Holly and Amy have super short hair right now-hard to believe they always had it super long. Just a thought, once you go that short/multiple layers you are stuck with short hair or numerous odd growing out stages. I cut chloe's hair really short and it had a weird stage from about a month after I cut it to a year or so later. It takes a lot of upkeep with short hair or the cut doesn't look as cute also.
So since you're a mom I'd stick with the current 'do and not worry about having to style it as much or get trims as often to keep it cute.
Hence why I've had the same hair for 10+yrs LOL

I think you should watch that other (more famous and extremely stylish) young mother, Katie Holmes.

You have a similar hair color. Blonde isn't going to do anything for someone with your skin tones and brown eyes. Besides, you have that beautiful rich shade of brunette.

Since blonde is a going to be a permanent (and extremely high maintenance) thing for you, why don't you have a little fun/hair-freedom with some dark rinses? Maybe one week you try a darker shade of brunette? Maybe a few more reddish hues the month after that?

But blonde is going to be a very high maintenance thing and you don't want to scare little Grace, do you?

this is a cop out answer, but i decided long ago (when my hair was ugly) that a pretty girl is a pretty girl, no matter how ugly the hair. as our humanities 420 colleague april would say, hair grows. that said, i have had moments of bitter regret for lopping my locks. good luck.

if i had hair that fit my soul age group it would be a thinning bluish perm. consider yourself lucky.

I love the third picture, the short and blonde do! That picture reminds me of the actress who plays Kasey Novak on Law and Order SVU.

well, i dont think blonde, unless very subtle highlights -my friend nicole just got some but just throughout her head not on top, not extremely noticeable but it adds a little somethin ya know? thats a possibility. All in all jen, my motto is- GO BIG OR GO HOME:) so you have hair, so play! if it doesn't work, you can always fix it. but i like the one persons idea, to play with darker colors, but your hair color is so stinking perfect that maybe you should just leave it? im not helping that much am i... haha oh well, at least im the 10th comment, that should make your day! :) luv you

Jen, you are more than welcome to add me. I'll add you as well! It really was fun being with all of you at lunch. Thanks for having me come. It's been a little tough moving out here and I appreciate a warm smile. Thanks! :) I like the short hair. I think it will be a fun change. I honestly couldn't say about the blonde. It could either be REALLY good...or not so good. I think it depends on how blonde. Ya know? Best of luck in your decision.

i think the short is fun, but the blonde not so much. maybe a little lighter highlighting would be fun, but not all blond. i say take the plunge and be bold, i am always too chicken to do anything fun with my hair. who is doing your hair?

In my humble opinion, I love the cut, but I think you should stick with your current hair color. My mom always says God gave us the hair color we have because it's the one that goes with our skin and coloring best. Now, that doesn't mean we can't spice it up a bit, mind you. :) Honestly though, your hair color is the prettiest I have ever seen. It's so dark and rich and goes so well with your light skin. It's fantastic! A cut would be fun, though. Whatever you decide to do will be beautiful. That's just how you are.

Jenny, you already have beautiful hair, just so you know.

If you're going to do anything, DO NOT go blonde. I just couldn't picture it. I really REALLY like your natural hair color, however, if you'd like to spice it up, I'd get highlights in a few colors, maybe some darker below and some warm reds on top. I wouldn't wander far from your natural hair color though, because it does work really well with your natural color.

I think the short cut would look great. You probably won't be able to put it back though, and I would think that that would be important to a mom, but I don't know. I'm a guy.

I would pull some light caramels through, but not blonde. I do like the new cut though, it looks cute on you!
