That Chair

When I took Victorian Literature in college, I fell madly in love with this chair. I read Middlemarch in this chair. This chair is a rust-colored velvet embrace, perfectly suited to my reading posture. And now, after many years in my grandmother's basement, this chair has come to me. And we will live happily ever after.

What a splendid happy thought and lovely memento of your grandmother. As if you and your Grace and Henry will be held in her embrace for the rest of your lives.

Or however many children the chair survives.

Oooh, there is nothing quite like the perfect reading chair. I used to have a lime-green crushed velvet chair from my grandmother. Ottoman included. It was splendid in both its nostalgia and comfort.
